My winter fuel payment was paid into my account today, Whoopee I can afford a few logs for my wood burner. If things go the same as every other year, I should get a letter confirmimg it is on its way to my account in about a month's time

Pleased to say mine has arrived at the Bank. With cold weather almost here this payment is handy to receive.

Every year I have the same problem with my WFA.
For some strange reason they pay me £100, then send me a letter saying they're paying me that because I am co-habitating.
Every year, I have to inform them that i'm not co-habitating, I got divorced 14 years ago and my ex wife lives in England and I live in Spain !
I'm now getting slightly fed up with their incompetence, surely it doesn't take much to take note of my circumstances and deal with it accordingly, but no, I've had to fire off another Email to them this week !

Big Ed.
Is it possible that your ex wife is also claiming and receiving 100 pounds.
The way I read the rules, it states 200 pounds per household. I know you live in different households, but in fairness, you would be receiving 400 pounds if you both claimed, but lived separately. Although this would make sense, but if you got the 200 each, imagine just how many peole would split up on
just one night per year to be able to gain 200 pounds, (I believe to collect the WFP you have to be able to prove where you slept on a certain night of the year.)
I believe things may be changing for ex-pats next year, from what I have read, we will have to spend a certain night in the U.K to receive the WFP.
I believe the easy way out of that one is to pay one of your visits to the U.K. so that it includes that particular night, then claim your WFP, I know you will have a fare to pay, but chances are it will be less than 200 pounds, therefore the U.K. Government didn't get to pinch even more of your money.
In case someone wants to argue, It is our money the Government give us back, It is up to us to make sure we reclaim everything we are entitled to.

Thanks Alan,
well I for one won't argue with your last sentence.
I, along with others, worked all my life and never claimed for anything.
I do usually get my other £100, but the annoying thing is, I have to remind them every year
